Camperdown Dairy International has been formed after agricultural investment management company EAT Group combined with resource development company MCG Group to buy an infant formula blending and filling business, the Camperdown Cheese and Butter Factory and local farms.
Little Treasure set to launch new smartphone app
A new smartphone application has been developed to help consumers get up to date product information from their powdered milk.
Little Treasure is set to release their patented app which can tell the consumer, in real-time, everything about the powdered milk they hold in their hand. This includes when it was made, when it was processed, where it was processed and how long it took to get from the farm gate to the their hands.
Little Treasure Directors said this application is a welcome initiative to help build a safer and more trusted profile of each of their products to the consumer.
“This is a great initiative and something that no other powdered milk producer is doing in the market. Our future plans are that this app will one day be precise enough to describe the process down to which cow was milked and where on the farm it grazes,” Director Steven Girotto said. “By receiving this information in real time, Little Treasure will have an enhanced ability to keep the consumer informed".
The application, which is available at no cost for iPhone and Android phone users, also includes safety advice, check lists for parents, fun videos, and much more.
Camperdown processor buys large farm
CAMPERDOWN Dairy International (CDI) has bought the first of about six farms it needs to supply the proposed large-scale whole milk powder and infant formula factory in Camperdown.
CDI director Bill McDonald scotched rumours the project had hit a hiatus.
He said the company was working hard to create a new supply line of milk for the factory to supplement the milk it aimed to attract from existing south-west producers.
Mr McDonald said the company had bought a 3035-hectare irrigated cropping farm at Edenhope in western Victoria on which it planned to run 3600 cows and produce 40 million litres of milk.
